Meet the Elders
In the New Testament, churches are led by a team of elders, also know as shepherds, pastors or overseers – terms used interchangeably to describe the same person (1 Pet 5:1-2; Acts 20:17, 28) – and are qualified men according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-10. At GodFirst Fourways we use the terms elder and pastor.
Although elders are the highest human authority in the local church, they are following Jesus, the chief-shepherd and Head of the church universal. Ultimately, they will give an account to Him for their stewardship.
Ryan and Sachi Saville
Ryan leads the eldership team that leads the church and works full time at the church. He is married to Sachi who works as a teacher. They have two kids; Jude and Thandi. Ryan has a background in engineering before becoming a pastor. He loves Jazz music, reading, basketball, and anything spicy!
AJ and Kerry Semple
AJ works full time in his start-up business doing industrial process heating. He is married to Kerry, who is a pre-school teacher and is passionate about helping families working around Neurodivergence. They have three kids Chloe, Sarah and Matt. AJ loves adventure sports, from skydiving, to mountain biking, to kite surfing but considers marrying Kerry as his greatest adventure. Kerry loves her crafts and books, and considers AJ her oldest but favourite student.
Paul and Michelle Anderson
Paul is originally from Zimbabwe and came to South Africa for varsity, where he met Michelle and as a result never went home! He is an economist and Michelle is in corporate banking. They have three children Luke, Rachel and Nathan. Seldom will you find the Anderson home without a few extra guests or visitors - hospitality is who they are.
Eric and Lindsey Trusler
Eric hails from Vanderbijlpark and is married to Lindsey who is from Kansas in the US. They have two sons, Jaykin and Shepherd. Eric works in IT within the banking sector and Lindsey is a Linguist with Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Reagan and Maita Skyle
This is the Skyle Family! Reagan is married to Maita and they have four children - Corey, Cole, Jesse and Shiloh. While both Reagan and Maita grew up in the quiet sugar cane plantations of eSwatini they love Johannesburg and are passionate about what God is doing to redeem this city. Reagan runs his own recruitment firm which has been going since 2012 and Maita is immersed in the world of homeschooling the kids. Their home is always buzzing with life and energy.
Chris and Nicky Lemmon
Chris is a Global Equity Portfolio Manager who enjoys working in the busy city of Jozi. His wife Nicky is on the preaching team here at G1 and they have two daughters Hannah and Sarah. They love being on board building the local church and the whole family enjoys the outdoors and being with people!
